ABOUT DAVE

David is regarded as one of Ireland’s most imaginative TV producers and directors, He initially made his mark with 2FM as a radio presenter, where he broadcast specialist music shows including Soul Searchin, Live and Dangerous and The Outside Track. More recently, he has presented Blues and Beyond on RTE Radio 1, a series that covered jazz, blues and soul. 
Co-founder of Frontier Films with
his brother Gerard, the company was set up to focus mainly on entertainment and music programming, with The Session, Blackboard Jungle and the Number One pop quiz among their successful projects. The Session won a prestigious ACE Award following its transmission on New York based Art’s and Entertainment. In 1993 he produced two films on the Velvet Underground that formed the cornerstone of a special eight-hour broadcast on Channel 4.


David now runs Palomino Pictures, which have produced three prime time series of Coulter and Company and 1 to Remember, with Brian Kennedy, and he has produced the last three the IFTA Awards. His other RTE productions include People of the Year, Dervish in Concert, the Sandy Kelly Story and the Eurovision Dance Competition. His current projects include four music specials for RTE and he is developing a comedy series with Dublin based comedian Dave Young.

Dave previewed two tracks on his show.
