Kieran's radio career began in 1979 when in his own words he built his own radio station in his parents' garage, the same year he started broadcasting with the first of many legendary pirate stations. "The greatest thing about that era was no matter how bad you were, there was usually a station as awful as you, where you could start."
Kieran worked for Ireland's first legal independent station Capital Radio, now FM104, where he was full time behind the scenes, making occasional forays on air at weekends. In 1994 he set up Key Marketing & Media, specialising in TV and Radio production. When he got word that 4fm wanted him to do some shows, he had to pinch himself. "Being back on air is a bit like meeting an old flame and discovering we still have feelings for each other."
